John Hutton grave source: Hinshaw's Encylopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol IV in which it stated "bur Middleton"
Pg 180 COCGS Cemetery Inscriptions, Vol 2.

The Quaker records have the wrong year for his death (1841). He's in the 1850 Census of Atwater, Portage County, Ohio. His wife Massey is there, too and they're living with dau. Sarah and her husband, Peter Quier. (Peter and Sarah's son Arvine Quier was a conductor on the underground railroad.) In 1850, John was 83 and Massey 79. This is the last record for John. For John's death date, the day and month the Quaker's listed was kept and the year changed to 1851. His wife Massey Hutton died 28 June 1857 at Randolph, Portage, OH, age 87. Obituary: Portage County Democrat, 8 Jul. 1857.

Massey Marshall Hutton (1770 -1857), dau. of William Marshall ( -1820) and Mary Fell Marshall ( -1828), was a sister to Hannah Marshall Davis Antram, wife of Enos Davis and John Antram. The Marshall, Hutton and Davis families came from S.C. to Atwater Twp., Portage Co., in 1807. Some sources: History of Portage, Marlboro Monthly Meeting Records, other Quaker records, and the 1820 U.S. Census, Atwater Twp., Portage, OH.
