Verne L Chandler (Chan) 92, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Banner Baywood Hospital, Mesa Ariz.

He was born March 26, 1918, in Grand Forks, ND, to Charles and Mattie Chandler. He was lthe US Army during World War II. He married Marjorie Hartgrave in 1943. After the war they lived in East Grand Forks, Minn., where Verne was a herdsman for Schroeder Farms. In 1954 they moved to Tintah, Minn., where Verne worked for Putnam Farms, the Public Schools System and lastly the University of Minnesota, Morris. He retired from UMM in December of 1984 and was later inducted into the UMM Hall of Fame. He loved his work at the University and was very proud of this honor.
Verne and Marge enjoyed being snowbirds in their retirement years. Summers in Tintah, Minn., and wintering in Mesa, Ariz., at Towerpoint RV Resort. After Marge's passing in 2003, Verne made Towerpoint his permanent home.
Verne and Marge had four daughters. Diane Kay Filley (Archie) Custer, SD, Janis Lynn Carrington (Don ) Mesa, Ariz., Patricia Sue and Vicki "Jo" Decker (Don ) Mesa, Arizona They had 5 grandchildren, Chad Filley, Jody Carrington, Troy Carrington, Reed Filley and Erin Carrington and 9 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters Janis and Jo and his brother Marvin Chandler Euclid, Minn., all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Marge, his two daughters, Kay and Patty, his sister Bessie and his brother Harold.
