Eva M. Abbott, 86, of 921 Gomo died at 9:31 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 1992 at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Born March 20, 1906, in Lafayette, Tenn., to Harrison and Letha Alice Steen Shrum, she married Dewey D. Abbott on Sept. 9, 1977 in Vienna, Ill. He died Sept. 9, 1977in Peoria. She also, was proceeded in death by one son, Coy Dee, one daughter, Eva Smith: three brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Dewey of Peoria, Bobbie of Groveland and Billie of Los Angeles; two brothers, Acie Shrum and Harrison Shrum, Jr. both of Senatobia, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren.
She owned and operated the former Dewey Service Cleaners until 1965. She was a member of the Caterpilllar Retirees Club, Glen Oak Retirees Club and Neighborhood House. She was also a member of Woodland Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at her church. The Rev. James Donahue will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Davison-Fulton Western Chapel, Peoria. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kerley Cemetery near Flatwoods community.
