Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend departed from this earth April 5,1996 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Don was bom February 3, 1925 in Bountiful, Utah, the son of Seth and Edith Putman Reed. He was married to Donna Madill and later divorced. He married Pauline Henline, February 22, 1986 in Salt Lake City. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple.
Don was a carpenter by trade and worked for Cannon, Papanikolas. He loved the outdoors and he had a special love for his children and grandchildren. He was a high priest in the LDS Church and he was a dedicated temple worker at the Jordan River Temple, and attended many others. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II and saw action in the Pacific Theater of War.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Pauline; sons, Gerald, Seth (Joan), Richard (Debby), Doug; daughters, Leah (James), Cindy (Steve), Tammy (Gary); step-children, steven (Debbie) Lee and Tammy (Bradley) Anderson; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, Roy Reed, Bountiful; sisters, Mary Thurgood, Roy; Joyce Troth, Bountiful. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ed, Elmer and sister, llda Stringhqm.
Don endured his illness with incredible spirit and courage. He never complained or allowed it to slow him down. He was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 9,1996 at 12 noon at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4391 West 4100 South, where the family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. Funeral Directors, Valley View Funeral Home.
