Funeral services for Dois Miles Holland will be held Monday morning December 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in Memorial Oaks Chapel with officiating minister Doug Hall. Interment will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.

Mrs. Holland was born in Dresden, Texas, on June 6, 1918, to Joseph Lee Miles and Eunice Maude Pitts Miles. She was married to Hugh Holland in Mertens, Texas, on February 17, 1940. Mrs. Holland, a devoted wife and mother, was a resident of Brenham and an active member of the Brenham Church of Christ for fifty-eight years. She died at Kruse Village on December 2 , 2011, at the age of ninety-three years and six months.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Betty and Floyd Wiesepape of Richardson, Peggy and Otto Acker of Brenham, Ron Holland of Georgetown and Bridget Holland of Bryan, Paula and John Rasor of Allen and daughter of the heart Treva Bullard; grandchildren and spouses, Katherine and Tim Pownell of Sugarland, Paul Wiesepape of Los Angeles, Andy and Kim Acker of College Station, Casey and Susan Acker of Brenham, Anna and Kevin Finke of Brenham, Julie and Clint Gray of San Gabriel, Maggie and Brett Payne of Roundrock, Samantha and Jarod Atchison of College Station, Clay Jones of Allen, Chase and Allie Jones of Austin; great grandchildren, Kristen and Kelsey Pownell, Katelyn and Jake Acker, Cole, Dane and Erin Acker, Camryn and Owen Finke, Hobbs and Cooper Gray, Harper Payne.

Mrs. Holland is also survived by one brother-in-law E.A. Toten of Blooming Grove and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel where the family will receive friends and relatives for the visitation on Sunday, December 4, from 5 to 7 pm. Memorials may be sent to the Brenham Church of Christ, Hospice of Brenham or LaRoche Manor Assisted Living.
