Mary Sue Hall was born in Pineland, Texas on February 24, 1934. Her parents, Thomas and Bertha Seale Hall moved to Jasper, Texas where Sue went to school at Jasper High School. Sue met her husband, Earl T. Knighton at the Henderson Drug Store when she was only fifteen years old. Earl was home from the service and stopped for a coffee. It was love at first sight and on May 13, 1950, she became Mary Sue Knighton. For the next 59 years, their marriage would experience many ups and downs, but their love for each other only grew. To Sue there was no other man on earth but her Earl T. Sue resided in Shepherd, Texas. On April 18, 2009, at the age of seventy-five, Sue entered the doors of Heaven. She helped many and brought great joy to all who met her. She loved her family get-togethers and delighted in cooking for her family and friends. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were always first in her life. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at the Stancil Park Log Cabin in Cleveland, Texas, on Sunday June 14, 2009, at noon. Family and friends are invited to come and celebrate the life of Mary Sue Knighton
