Granny told us the story of when she was struck by lighting as a young teenager, standing at the front door of their home in Fairview. She was unconscious for a couple of days, and family was called in as they thought she would die. She finally woke up and saw the family gathered around her. She recovered and was left with a burn scar on her chest and seemed none the worse for it. The scar always reminded her of her close call. She lived to be 94 years old.
