Mrs. Melvin Searing, 44 years old, died at the residence in Universal at 4:45 o'clock sunday afternoon. She is survived by the husband, Roy; four daughters, Mrs. Perle Doan, Mrs. Maxine Reed, and Mrs. Beverley Virotsko, all of Universal, and Wilma, at hom: one son, Roy, Jr. of Gary; seven grandchildren: the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Hedges: one brother, Cpl. Herbert Hedges now in Saipan: and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Archer of Clinton and Mrs. Mina Bybee of Universal. The body was removed to the Thomas Funeral Home and later returned to the residence. Funeral services will be held at the Universal church at 3:30 o'clcok Tuesday afternoon with Rev. James Kelly officiating. Burial will be made in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Clinton.
