David Vickers - Merritt Island - David Colin Vickers, 58, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his home. Dave Vickers had been a well known and respected musician since the early 1970s. Playing bass guitar and singing in some of the most popular bands in the area for over three decades. Along with being a great musician, Dave owned a successful drafting company, cooked like a professional chef, and had a passion for fishing. Dave lived life to the fullest. An extremely devoted husband, friend and all around good person. Dave Vickers will be missed by many, many friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda; father, Drexel (Dianne) Vickers; sister, Debi (Cliff) Harbin; brother, Gary (Connie) Vickers; and nephews, Joel and Gary. He was predeceased by his mother, Ethel Vickers. Calling hours are Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. at North Brevard Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at North Brevard Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made to the Brevard Humane Society.
