Obituary published in the "Chattanooga Daily Times" in Chattanooga, Tennessee on 5/28/1905 on page 22.

"GREENEVILLE, Tenn., May 27. - Mrs. Frances Josephine Brown, the widow of the late Joseph R. Brown, died at this place, at 5 o'clock Tuesday evening, after an illness of a few weeks. Mrs. Brown was a member of one of the most prominent families in this part of the state and was loved and honored by all who knew her. The funeral took place from her late beautiful home, where she had lived for over sixty years, Wednesday evening at 5 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. S. Eakin, pastor of the Presbyterian church. The remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in Oak Grove cemetery. Mrs. Brown is survived by four children, H. R. Brown of the Brown Manufacturing company, Mrs. C. L. Sevier of Bristol, Mrs. W. A. Susong and Mrs. Harry Milligan of Greeneville."
