Of Waynesboro, PA died 8:47 p.m. (emergency room) Waynesboro Hospital. Unexpected death attributed to heart failure. Born to the late J. Edward and Elva R. Morgan Minnich. Member of Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lifelong resident of Waynesboro. Graduated (1956) Waynesboro High School. Attended Western Union School in NJ. Worked for Landis Tool Co. Waynesboro police officer, Deputy sheriff of Franklin County. Worked for the PA Dept Transp. Retired in 1997 molder for BenJu Corp. A life member of Always There Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Waynesboro, he was also a member of Waynesboro Fire Police and AARP's National division. He was assistant treasurer for Quincy Cemetery board of directors. He enjoyed working on guns, hunting, camping and the outdoors. He and his wife, Doris J. Gearhart Minnich, were married July 20, 1963, in Hagerstown, Md. They moved to the present residence in 1980. In addition to his wife, surviving are a daughter, Susan M. R. Minnich of Waynesboro, and a granddaughter, Morgan R. Minnich of Waynesboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Perry E. in 1975. He was the last of his immediate family. Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., with the Rev. Richard A. Seaks officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical Church, 43 S. Church St., Waynesboro 17268.
