Davis, Mr. Edward R. Sr., Kochville Township
Passed away at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital early Monday morning, July 5, 1982. Age 88 years. He was born Dec. 23, 1893, in Kochville Twp. and has lived there all of his life. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1912. Mr. Davis engaged in farming for many years. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Farm Bureau and served on the Township Board for 25 years. He was director and secretary of the Liberty School Board and Superintendent of Poultry and a Judge at the Saginaw County Fair for many years. He married Edna Duggan, May 28, 1927. She survives him. He also leaves three daughters, two sons and their spouses. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent (Mary) Markey and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Davis, Houghton Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Davis Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Leonard (Joan) Thomas and Eileen Davis; of Saginaw; eighteen grandchildren. Two brothers and one grandson, David Markey have predeceased him.

Funeral service will take place 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Case Chapel, 409 Adams St., and 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Rev. Bernard Kirchman will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday where they will meet with relatives for a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

A memory from Fred Krause:
Edward Riley Davis had an apple farm and as a child I remember going over there and picking apples! He had real bright blue eyes and a deep voice that left an impression on a young child !!
