Hildur Dorothy Gustafson, was born October 28th 1912 in Darling Township, Morrison County, Minnesota, to the late Edward and Ottelia Fredrickson. She grew up in the Darling area on the family farm and attended the local country school. Hildur received her certificate to teach school from the Saint Cloud Normal School, which became Saint Cloud State University. She taught K-9 for many years in the same country school that she attended in her youth.

Hildur was united in marriage in 1937 to Albert Gustafson while in Sweet Home, Oregon. After raising her three children, she had a second career at the Weyerhauser Museum of Little Falls, MN, where she helped with translations, worked on exhibits and did tours. As a volunteer, she helped with childhood vaccinations for many years for the Morrison County Health Department. Hildur and Albert were lifetime members of Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls, Minnesota, where she was an active member. Hildur loved traveling, most especially, the North Shore, going to concerts and listening to music. She treasured the time she shared with her husband, immediate and extended family as well as friends and community members. Hildur often expressed her love for all of the staff at Country Manor Nursing Home of Sartell, where she resided for the past seven years.

Hildur is survived by sons, Douglas and Daniel Gustafson; daughter, Bonnett Ottelia Chandler; brother, Sherman; grandsons, Andrew, Graham & Nicholas Gustafson; granddaughter, Kiersten Gustafson Mann; great-grandchildren, Aaron & Erick Larson, Caitlin, Emma & Berit Gustafson; nieces, Arlene Weaver, Carmen Hartling; and great nephew, David Robideau. Hildur was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Ottelia Fredrickson; beloved husband, Albert Emmanuel Gustafson; brothers, Lester, Marshall; sisters, Evelyn, Ethel & Ella Mae. Pallbearers will be Andrew, Graham & Nicholas Gustafson, Aaron Larson, John Gustafson and John Nelson.
