In 1864 she went to Clinton county Iowa where she taught school and was there married, Oct. 16, 1866 to John Hoover Burrowes, of De Witt, Iowa, who died July 15, 1919, at Boulder Colo., where they had made their home for 23 years.
To this marriage six children were born, two of whom preceeded [sic] her in death. Julia, who died in early childhood and the late Robert B. Burrowes of Loup City.

At fourteen years of age she united with the Congregational church in Eden County, Ind. Her life was consecrated first to Christ and then to her family and home. At the time of her death she was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Loup City.
Through the years of middle life she was always busy and always enjoyed reading and keeping abreast of the world's progress.
She looked always for the good in everyone and was moderate and charitable in her judgements. She never sought the easy path nor spared her self the heavy burden.
Of recent years her physical activity has gradually diminished but retaining her mental faculties she has continued to read widely and keep her hands employed.
By her kindness and goodness she has enshrined her self in the hearts of her family and in the memory of many friends.
Funeral services were held from the C. C. Outhouse home Tuesday afternoon. Rev. A. J. Meierhoff officiated. Mrs. D. A. Beach sang two beautiful solos.
Interment was made at Evergreen cemetery.
