Norma Lynn (Wellborn) Scott, age 43, of LaPlata, Missouri, passed away Friday (June 9, 2000) at Manor Care Center, Kirksville, Missouri.

Born on March 20, 1957, in Sacramento, California, she was the daughter of Weslie and Evelyn (Calef) Wellborn. On May 31, 1975, in Kirksville, Missouri, she married Rick Scott who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Branda Scott of Kirksville, Missouri and Bretta Scott of the home; her mother and step-father, Evelyn and Rex Pickett; two brothers, Jeff Wellborn of Parker, Colorado and Gene Wellborn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four sisters, Nanette Blackstad and Susan Olson, both of Kirksville, Missouri, Sheila Flickinger of LaPlata, Missouri and Paula Easdale of Hurdland, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers in infancy.

Norma was a 1975 graduate of Brashear High School. She lived most of her life in Macon and Adair Counties with the last twenty-three years being in LaPlata. She had been employed by the LaPlata R-II School District and was employed by J.C. Penney until her illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday (June 12, 2000) at the Travis Funeral Home Chapel in LaPlata, Missouri with the Reverend Jerry Briscoe officiating. The musical selections were “Forever and Ever”, “Angels Among Us”, and “The Dance”. Burial was in the LaPlata Cemetery, LaPlata, Missouri.

Pallbearers were Gary Pickett, Ron Moore, Richard Blackstad, Harvey Summers, Larry Pickett and Michael Easdale.

The family requests that memorials in memory of Norma Lynn Scott be made to the Norma Scott Memorial. Memorials may be left or mailed to Travis Funeral Chapel, LaPlata, Missouri.
