Born March 10, 1916 in Youngstown, Ohio she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life moving to Athens three years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Athens and Shelby.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard H. "Dick" and Connie Adam, Jr. of Athens, AL and daughter and son-in-law Sue Ann and Robert McKnight of Marietta, OH; three granddaughters, Libby Brackeen of Athens, AL, Debbie Craig of Madison, AL and Jill Adam of Nashville, TN; two grandsons Chris McKnight and Andy McKnight of Marietta, OH; six great-grandchildren and her brother George Richards of Dublin, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard H. Adam.
Graveside services will be held Saturday January 31, 2004 at Oakland Cemetery Shelby. Reverend James L. Smith, of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. A memorial service will also be held January 24, 2004 in Athens, Alabama. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Hospice of Limestone County, 405 S. Marion St., Athens Alabama, 35611.
