Dorothea E. Adam, age 81, formerly of Shelby died Friday, May 23, 2003 in Westover Retirement Community, Hamilton, Ohio where she resided.

Born May 11, 1922 in Crestline to William and Ida (Marquart) Guisinger she married Roscoe E. Adam on July 23, 1950 in Shelby. She had been employed as a secretary for Shelby Mutual Insurance Company and was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her son , David R. Adam, MD and wife, Cheryl of Hamilton and three grandchildren, Lindsay, Lauren and Jonathan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband on January 5, 1980 and one brother, John A. Guisinger

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend David S. Sipes will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Memorial expressions may be made to the St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 31 N. Gamble St., Shelby, OH 44875.
