Joseph's father died in 1893 and his mother was listed in the 1900 census as living 81 Main St. in Amesbury MA. His brothers were listed with him and his sister Margaret was married and living down the same street with her husband James Nally and their family. Joseph was listed as being born Dec. 1879 and was age 20. His occupation was Lampshop spinner.
In 1903 his mother died and in 1910 Joseph was living at 21 Powow St in Amesbury with his brothers James E.; John C.; and William. He was listed as inspector at shoe factory. Also living in the household was Catherine Toole, housekeeper/servant.
Joseph died July 1918, perhaps of the flu. His brother Thomas Francis also died a couple months later of flu. He was never married.
