SOUTH BEND - Rocco J. Lupresto Sr., 88, passed away in his home on Thursday, December 15, 2011. He was the son of the late Pasquale and Josephine (Iemma) Lupresto. On June 7, 1952, Rocco married Alberta Frank in St. Joseph Church, South Bend. She survives. Also left to mourn him are his sons, Patrick, Andrew, Anthony and Rocco Jr. (Wendy) of South Bend and Michael of Mishawaka; a daughter, Carol Ann Holcomb of South Bend; grandsons, Chad Holcomb of Osceola, Michael Lupresto of Mishawaka and Josh Lupresto of Eagle Mountain, UT; granddaughter, Kelly Holcomb of South Bend; and great-grandchildren, Donovan, Isaiah, Audry, Aidan, Abby and Bridger. Also surviving him are his brother, Joseph P. Lupresto, and two sisters, Julia Ann Kempf and Rose M. Brzezinski, all of South Bend. A brother, James T. Lupresto, preceded him in death.
Rocco was a basketball coach at Saint Joseph Grade School, South Bend, and won a Golden Gloves Award for boxing. He retired from Simon Bros. and after retirement, he could be seen on the golf course weekly with his friends, Tony Papandria and Nick Ferarro.
