CALDWELL - Glen E. Alcorn, 74, of Caldwell, died Wednesday, June 27, 1990, in Tempe, Ariz., following an extended bout with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The Rev. Ray Thompson of the United Methodist Church, Caldwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
Mr. Alcorn was born Dec. 2, 1915, at Wellington. Colo.. a son of Peter E. and Elsie Brainard Alcorn. Ile attended schools in Wellington, and graduated from Wellington High School. Glen moved to Nampa. Idaho, in 1935. when he worked for PFE railroad company. He married Opal Meeker on June 5, 1935, at Nampa.
Glen served in the U.S, Marine Corps from 1945 to 1946. Following World War II, they moved to Waverly, Iowa, where he worked for a time, before returning to Caldwell in 1916, he was employed by Sears until the early 10505. at which time he began working at Idaho Employment Security Agency, retiring in 1977.
Glen enjoyed both square and round dancing, and the auto races at the Meridian Speedway. Survivors include two sons, Gary Alcorn of Tempe, Ariz. and Vyrl Alcorn of Elko. Nev.; a brother, Tom Alcorn of Portland, Or.; two sisters. Hazel Davenport of Nampa and Betty Meeker of Ashdown, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
