Mrs. Esther Bowling, 95, died Wednesday, Nov 7, 1990 in Sherman. She was a long-time Dodson resident.
Mrs. Bowling was born Aug 25, 1895, in Altamont, Kansas, the daughter of William Henry Flager and Emma Hamsher Flager. She was married to Tom Bowling on April 1, 1918. They moved to Dodson in 1937 where Mr. Bowling served as the agent for M K & T Railroad until he retired.
Mrs. Bowling was a member of the Dodson Civic Club, which she served as president in 1949. She was also a member of the Dodson Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Rebekah Lodge, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Dodson Home Demonstration Club. She moved to Sherman in 1972. At the time of her death, Mrs. Bowling was a member of Trinity Church of Christ in Sherman.
Mrs. Bowling is survived by one son, Paul Bowling of Wylie; two daughters, Joann Farris and Helen Owens, both of Sherman; one brother, Charles Flager of Paonia, Colorado and by nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bowling was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Teutsch; three brothers, Joseph Flager, Homer Flager, and John Flager; three sisters: Mrs. Sylvia Dahlem, Mrs. Zelma Myers and Mrs. Alta Arnall.
