Mr. Samuel H. Mack, died at his home at St. Matthews Tuesday morning, after a long and painful illness. He was born September 15, 1844,* in the Bull Swamp section of Orangeburg County. He went to St. Matthews, as a young man, with small means, but by diligent efforts and economical habits acquired a snug competence. In his death another old veteran crosses over the river.
