In 1942 Clarence registered with the draft of WWII when he and Ella V. O'Keefe were living at 258 Somerset Avenue in Taunton and he was self employed at 5 School Street in Taunton. Their phone number was Taunton 590 and he was 5' 5 1/2" tall, weighed 175 pounds, and had gray eyes and gray hair.

The community was shocked on Sunday to hear of the sudden death of Dr. Clarence S. O'Keefe, Taunton dentist who was stricken with a heart attack about 10:30 Sunday morning in Barker's drug store. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Morton Hospital.
Dr. O'Keefe was born in this city, the son of the late Simon F. and Joanna O'Keefe. He was educated in the Taunton Public schools, and graduated from the University of Virginia Dental school.
He opened his office here and his practice was interrupted when he entered the army in the first World War.
Returning from service at the close of hostilities in 1919 Dr. O'Keefe resumed his practice of dentistry which he continued until his untimely death. He was a man highly respected in his profession and had a host of friends throughout the city.
He gave unselfishly of his time as a member of the Taunton Rationing Board since its inception at the start of the war. He was a member of several Dental Associations, the American Legion and Taunton Lodge of Elks.
He is survived by one brother, Henry L. O'Keefe of New York and three sisters, Mrs. J. F. Mullins of Flushing, L. I., Mrs. Thomas McGuire of Worcester, and Miss Ella V. O'Keefe of this city.
