Mrs. Truby retired in 1977 after having worked as a medical assistant for 14 years at Dr. Shannon's office. She also worked five years at Raybestos Products and five years at the Indiana State Revenue Office.
She attended Georgetown, Ill.., schools; was a member of New Hope Christian Church; was a 50-year member of the Athens Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; and was active with many Montgomery County civic organizations.
She was born Jan. 19, 1919, at Norris City, Ill., to George and Reva (Morgan) Hanover. She married Ronald Truby on March 2, 1946, at Danville, Ill. He died in 1999.
Survivors include daughter Connie D. Vance of Crawfordsville and three grandchildren. Brothers Ed and George Hanover also are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with the Rev. Michael Whitacre officiating. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown. Friends may call 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
