A.C. WHARTON, 90, of Lebanon, Tenn., businessman, died Friday at Mariner Health Care in Lebanon. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Market Street Church of Christ, where he was a member, with burial in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. J.C. Hellum Funeral Homes has charge. Mr. Wharton served on the Wilson County 911 board, the Lebanon Housing Authority and the board of Humana McFarland Hospital. Mr. Wharton, the husband of Mary Alice Seay Wharton for 64 years, also leaves two sons, Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton of Memphis and Dr. Kenneth Wharton of Chicago; three daughters, Mary Davis of Memphis, Ruth Wharton of Los Angeles and Velma Lowe of Mt. Prospect, Ill., and 10 grandchildren. The family asks that any memorials be sent to the Wharton Family Scholarship at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn.
