Funeral services for Elizabeth Phelps are pending with the Martin Funeral Home. Mrs. Phelps died Wednesday morning at the age of 89. Final arrangements will be announced when complete.

Elizabeth Phelps
Funeral services for Elizabeth Phelps will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. form(sic) the Martin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Phelps was born July 24, 1906 in Missouri to Thomas and Nancy (Price) Vaughn and died Wednesday at the age of 89.

Elizabeth was married to Robert Paul Phelps on July 26, 1926 in Elk City. They operated Vaughn's Diary for several years and then farmed in the Pleasant Valley Community until 1941 when they moved to Lockwood, Missouri. In 1946 they moved to Pittsburg, Kansas and then back to Elk City in 1970.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Phelps preceded her in death on December 24, 1973. She was also preceded by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her son; Robert Loren Phelps and his wife Mary of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two grandchildren; Robert Loren Phelps II of Lawrence, Kansas; Mary Elizabeth Phelps of Norfolk, Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
