The twelfth child of Conrad Carl Wingerter and Elizabeth Ann Schmaltz, she graduated from Yakima High School where among her many accomplishments was being a city champion in tennis.

In the early 1950's, Margaret started her banking career in Yakima. She was employed at Pacific National Bank and Westside National Bank prior to moving to Tacoma. In Tacoma, she worked for Puget Sound National Bank and retired from them in 1990 as a Customer Service Officer. After her retirement, she moved back to Yakima. Margaret was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and an active volunteer at Memorial Hospital. In addition, Margaret was an avid reader and enjoyed spending a great deal of time in her yard gardening. She always had a passion for cats and provided a home to many strays over the years.

She is survived by one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, Peter, Joseph, Frank, Fred, Jack, Sebastian and Bernard Wingerter, and four sisters, Magdalene Larson, Mary Graff, Rose Caraway and Martina Schlosstein.
