The son of Margaretha Mergenthaler and Carl Frederich Leib, Charles "Carl" Leib married Annie Maria Eifler in 1852 in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Carl and Annie had 12 children. About 1899 Annie developed health problems and became bedridden, she spent the last two years of her life with her daughter Mathilda Laib Braeske and her family. Her husband, Carl had developed dementia and lived with his daughter Katie Regina Laib Roelle and her family. Annie is buried at Rose Hill. The last name is found spelled two ways, Laib and Leib.
