He was the son of Henry M. Beaver (1830-1902) and Elizabeth BIVANS (1830-1903).
All but his oldest sibling was born in Iowa. His siblings included (birth years are 'about'): Mary C. b. 1851 in Illinois, Thomas S. b. 1852, Emelia A. b. 1853, Elias M. b. 1855, Sarah E. b. 1856, Maria Jane b. 1857, Marinda A. b. 1859, Henry b. 1860, Ettie or Luvina b. 1862, Joseph b. 1865, Robert b. 1866, John Adolphus b. 1867 d. 1939, Arthur b. 1871, Jacob b. 1872, and Laurettie b. 1873.

Lewis appeared with his parents and siblings on the following census records:
1870 - Clay, Marion Co., Iowa
1880 - Clay, Marion Co., Iowa
He married Mary Elizabeth GODFREY (1863-1942) on 10 Oct 1883 in Marion County, Iowa (per Marion Co., Iowa Marriage Records - B).
They had one son, Pearl 'Pearlie' Clyde Beaver who was born in 1884 and died in 1900. From Pearlie's obit, it appears that he was an invalid most of his short life.
In about 1909, Lewis and Mary took in an orphaned boy named Clyde Eugene Perham (1900-1990). Clyde apparently legally changed his surname from Perham to Beaver in 1923 (this per another family tree on Ancestry.com).
Lewis, Mary and Pearlie appeared on an Iowa Census in 1895 living in Eureka, Adair County, Iowa.
I cannot find them on the 1900 census, but it could be that they were in transit between Iowa and Missouri when the census was taken as in their son, Pearlie's obit, it indicates that his parents took him from Missouri where he had been living the past few years back to Iowa where he died in April 1900. The obit does not indicate whether Lewis and Mary had also been living in Missouri, but I would guess so as the obit states, "He had lived his entire life in Marion County with the exception of a few years." I would guess those few years were spent living in Missouri.
However, Lewis and Mary are found in Iowa as follows:
1910 - Clay, Marion County, Iowa w/ Clyde Perham living with them and listed as their adopted son
1915 - Clay, Marion County, Iowa - Iowa Census
1925 - Clay, Marion County, Iowa - Iowa Census
His obituary indicates that Lewis' wife preceded him in death on December 24, 1942 and his parents and eight brothers and eight sisters also preceded him in death. I was told that Lewis was one of 18 children born to Henry and Elizabeth, but I have only been able to find 16 children as listed on census records. The other two children might have been born and died in-between census records.
Lewis is listed on various census records as a farmer.
Lewis is not a blood relation to me. Our connection is through his grandfather, Elias Beaver. Lewis' father was Henry M. Beaver born to Elias Beaver and Millie Timmons. After Millie died in about 1838, Elias remarried to Naomi WILSON. Naomi was the daughter of John Sears Wilson and Nancy LINN. Nancy Linn was my 3rd great grand aunt.
