ALF FINCH
PRESH FINCH
Died - Last Thursday morning; Alf and Presh Finch, twin brothers, were found partly submerged in Brushy Creek and upon investigation it was discovered that both had been shot with buck-shot and apparently killed instantly.  The dead bodies were found by their sons, who notified the officers and an inquest was held by Chief Deputy Sheriff, E.M. Galloway, and Justice of the Peace, H.R. Finch, with the following jurors serving; A.G. Cowart, R.A. Pugh, J.V. Cooley, G.C. Newbill, Alex Stevens, and Sim Harrison. No clues were unearthed that would shed any light on who were the perpetrators or what led up to the killing.

R.C. Cowan, District attorney was also called into the investigations and together with Sheriff McLeod, is still active, running down any slight clues that might throw any light on the mysterious slaying of the two men.

They were fifty-five years of age, had lived all their lives within a few miles of where they were born, were inseparable in life, and inseparable in death, as they were buried together in one box in one grave, at or near their birthplace at midnight by the torch light and without the usual burial services.

One of the citizens present, L.L. Logan, made a short talk and held prayer, and thus ended all that was mortal of Alf and Presh Finch.
