KINSTON -- Sara Ivey Kornegay Taylor, 93, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Mrs. Taylor was born in Wayne County to the late Charles Wesley Ivey and Frankie Kivett Ivey. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Randall Kornegay and Robert Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was a retired beautician and the former owner/operator of Sara's Beauty Shop. She was a member of Westminister United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at 2 p.m. from Seven Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Haywood Smith officiating.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son, Randall Kornegay and wife, Janice, of Burlington; two grandchildren, Wendy Newsome and Christy Newsome, both of Burlington; great-grandchild, Lucas Newsome of Burlington; sister, Adele Carr of Goldsboro; three brothers, Kivett Ivey of LaGrange, Bill Ivey of Moncks Corner, S.C. and Harry Ivey of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staffs of Spring Arbor and Kitty Askins for their outstanding care.
