Mr. Charlie E. Brady, of Trinity, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at High Point Regional.
Charlie was born on April 1, 1930, in Moore County, a son of the late Rassie and Allie Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carol True, and seven brothers, Marvin Brady, Herbert Lindy Brady, Warren Brady, Edward Brady, Graham Brady, Harrison Brady, and Rassie Brady, Jr.
Charlie was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was always generous and eager to help. He married Reba Evon Simpson on December 24, 1955. Charlie was in the US Air Force serving in the Korean War. He was employed with Western Electric, later merging with AT&T and retiring after thirty plus years of service. He was very proud of his love as a master woods craftsman. Most people will remember Charlie for his work traveling to local shows selling his products. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Redskins. He was a loving, dedicated, and honest husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Reba Evon Simpson Brady of the home; a daughter, Brenda Covert and her husband, William of Cary; one brother, Earlie Brady of Robbins, NC; and one grandson, Mitchell "Mitch" Covert of Cary.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday, December 17th, in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church in High Point with Rev. Chris Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park, with Military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday, December 16th, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
