Obituary for E.O. Stanard, Jr. from the "St. Louis Dispatch" on October 20th, 1899.

"Funeral of E.O. Stanard, Jr. - It will take place Saturday at Lindell Avenue M.E. Church - The funeral of E.O. Stanard, Jr., son of ex-Gov. E.O. Stanard, will take place at the Stanard residence at 3629 Lindell boulevard, Saturday afternoon. The services will be performed by Rev. William Wirt King of the Lindell Avenue M.E. Church and Dr. Jesse Bowman Young, editor of the Central Christian Advocate.
Mr. Stanard died at Colorado Springs where he had gone for his health. He had been seriously ill only since last Sunday. His mother, his brother Will and his sister were present when he died. They will arrive with the body Friday night.
The young man was well known in St. Louis. He was a graduate of Smith Academy and of Yale. He entered into business with his father, but his health failed and he went West. He located at Colorado Springs six years ago and had lived there since. During the recent cold snap, he contracted a cold, which developed into pneumonia. He was 31 years old."
