Mrs. Schultz Rites Held On Saturday
Numerous friends and relatives assembled at St. John’s Lutheran church in Wilton last Saturday to pay final tribute to the memory of Mrs. Carl Schultz whose death occurred on Christmas day at her Wilton home. Rev. John Herbst of New Richland officiated and after the church services the remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Meriden. The pall bearers were Herman Schuemnicht, Ernest Bauman, Adolph Lechner, Fred Krause, William Poplow and Frank Krienke.
Johanna Katz was born in Germany on March 1, 1849, and lived there until after her marriage to Carl Schultz in 1882 and a year later to Waseca County, which has since been her home.
Besides her aged husband, Mrs. Schultz is survived by the following children: John and Charles Schultz of Otisco, Augusta Schultz of Waseca, Arthur Schultz of Wilton, Mrs. Chas. Bauman and Mrs. Lars Paulson of Otisco, Mrs. Andrew Farley of Wilton and Mrs. Emma Malone of Minneapolis. There are also 41 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
