Eva Marie Walker Carpenter
1914 ~ 2006
Our loving mother, Eva Carpenter, passed away Jan 23, 2006 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was born Mar 27, 1914 in Holladay, Utah to William Holmes and Ellazan Maddox Walker. She married Otto Franklin Carpenter on Dec 21, 1936 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Eva had many hobbies, baking, gardening, quilting and sewing. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings and was a name extractor for temple work. She was "Nana" to all her grandchildren and loved to spend time with her family.

Survived by a son, Dale (Lucy) Carpenter, 2 daughters, Darlene (LeRoy) Page and EllaRee (Richard) Petersen, 19 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Ralph Walker.

Preceded in death by her husband and son, William Dee Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan 27, 2006 at 11 am in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 E 100 N, American Fork with a viewing Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 am prior to the services. Burial, Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah.

NOTES: I've got a question for family members or acquaintances of Eva:
The obit says her father's name was William Holmes Walker. Her mother, Ellazan Maddox, is my great great aunt and in my family tree (and in all other sources I've ever come across), his name is Wilford R. Walker. I show that she has a brother named William Holmes Walker. Is this obit mistaken? Isn't William her brother, rather than her father?
