Albert Jason Levitt, 76, of Olney, died at 2:33 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2001, at Burgin Manor in Olney.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend Randy Mullinax officiating.

Burial with full military rites by Olney veterans organizations will be in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mr. Levitt was born on August 10, 1925, in Jasper County, the son of Albert and Naomi (Semple) Levitt. He married Georgia Louise "Babe" Taylor on January 5, 1945, in Olney. She preceded him in death on March 16, 1987.



He was a self-employed refrigeration repairman and a member of VFW and American Legion. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Mr. Levitt is survived by three daughters, Janet Wells and her husband, Steve, of Noble, Robin Rodriguez, of Mt. Carmel, and Randee Krup and her husband, Willy, of Mt. Carmel; three sons, Robert Levitt and his wife, Julie, of Alma, Dennis Levitt and his wife, Myrna, of Norris City, and Michael Levitt and his wife, Michelle, of Olney; a daughter-in-law, Sue Levitt, of North Andover, Mass.; step-mother, Grace Nixon, of Decatur; a brother, Maurice Levitt and his wife, June, of Neoga; two sisters, Carol Cole and her husband, Marvin, of Lexington, and Marjorie Kibler, of Decatur; and 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Jackie, and grandson, Derek.
