Donald Lee Adams, age 85 of Zane St., Glen Dale, died Sunday, July 01, 2007 in Wheeling Park Medical Center, Wheeling.

He was born on July 25, 1921 in Moundsville, the son of the late Allen Bond Adams and Edith Naomi Tyhurst.

Donald owned and operated his own brick and glaze tile distribution business, A. B. Adams and Son. Donald also was Professor Emeritus at Northern Community College. He taught in the Engineering Technology Department. Donald was a graduate of the United Sates Naval Academy and a veteran of WWII, having served in the submarine service during the war. He retired with the rank of Commander in the Naval Reserves. Donald was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Moundsville, where he served as an Elder. He was president of the Wheeling Presbytery in 1964. Donald was past president of the Rotary Club of Moundsville, member of the Elks Lodge 282, American Legion Post 1 in Wheeling, Reserve Officers Association of USA, and Retired Officers Association of USA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Allen Bond Adams, Jr., Rex Allen Adams, and Pete Adams, and a granddaughter Jeanne Michelle Adams.

Donald is survived by his wife Stella Seeley Adams, three sons Phillip Adams of Fort Meyers, FL, Donald Adams, Jr. of Washington, DC, and Van Adams of Ravenswood, WV, five grandchildren Vickie, Leslie, Elizabeth, Van, and Catherine, five great-grandchildren Autumn, Samantha, Tyler, Abby, and David, several nieces and nephews.

Family received friends on Monday from 7-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church, Third Street and Washington Ave., Moundsville, with Rev. Tim Wilt officiating. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery, where Moundsville Honor Guard conducted military graveside services.
