BODY OF YOUTH IS FOUND
Son of Chicago Alderman Long is Knocked by Train Into River, North Yakima. The body of William Carson Long, for the recovery of which dead or alive a reward of $5500 was offered, was found on a bar in the Yakima river by Lawrence Sanford, a young rancher. Long disappeared on March 5. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a son of Theodore K. Long, millionaire alderman of Chicago, and had been employed here by the Cascade Mill company. The man was evidently killed by a Northern Pacific train on the Selah bridge here and knocked into the river. His arms were broken and the body badly bruised. Several hundred dollars in money and valuable papers were found on the body, eliminating the theory of foul play. Newport miner April 18 1912.
