Funeral service for Wanda Mae Roach, 78, of Geronimo, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Geronimo, with Rev. Steve Mallow, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church and Rev. John Cullison, pastor of First Baptist Church of Geronimo, officiating.
Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roach passed away on Sunday, December 25th, 2011 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Wanda Mae was born on April 2nd, 1933 in Doyle, Oklahoma to Henry James and Bessie (Savage) Sullivan. She grew up in the Marlow rural area. Wanda married Alonzo Thomas Roach on December 3, 1951 in Duncan, Oklahoma. She moved to Geronimo in 1963. She worked at Lawton Public Schools as a cook before she went to work at Haggar Slacks. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Geronimo.
Her hobbies were sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by children, Lynn Roach and his wife, Marilyn, Patsy Lewis, Bobby Roach, all of Geronimo, Oklahoma, and Henry Roach, and his wife, Debbie, of Joplin, Missouri; her sister, Mary Ruth Vandagriff, of Duncan, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Shauna Brinsfield, of Geronimo, Oklahoma, Tina Nichols, and her husband Donnie, of Stratford, Oklahoma, Kelly Corpuz, and her husband, Richard, of Cedar Hill, Texas, Kari Webb and her husband, David, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Barbi Trevarrow, and her husband, Chris, of Joplin, Missouri, Cash Hoover, of Newfoundland, Canada, Chris Roach, of Aurora, Colorado, and Holley Terry, of Artesia, New Mexico; her great grandchildren, Grady, Brittany, Lacey, Blake, Tiera, Liliana, Adelina, Kylee, Kaeley, Max, Leota; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Rufus Sullivan, and a granddaughter, Chastity Lynn Roach.
