Captain E. D. Brisbin died at his home at Pennsylvania avenue & Fourteenth street, at 4:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, after suffering from pneumonia about a week. Captain Ezra Dougherty Brisbin was born at Boalsburg, Centre county, on the 20th of October, 1829 and was 65 years, 7 months and 9 days old. Spending his childhood days at Boalsburg, his parents removed to Williamsburg when the lad was about 12 years of age, where he grew to manhood. At the age of 22 years he went west and lived in Kansas two years. then he returned and settled in Tyrone, where on the 1st of January, 1856 he married Miss Mary M. Maxwell, the daughter of Robert Maxwell, one of Tyrone's early citizens, who with his family in later years removed to the west. Mr. and Mrs. Brisbin remained in Tyrone one year after their marriage, then they removed to Milesburg where they remained about a year, and then removed to Woodbury where they lived some years. They then removed to the west, and after living in Wisconsin about a year settled in Redwing, Minn. They remained in Minnesota until about seven years ago when they returned to Tyrone and have lived here ever since. Captain Brisbin in disposition was quiet, unostentatious and kind. Deceased is survived by his wife, two sons and two brothers. The sons are W.J. and C.B. Brisbin, both of whom are married and live in Tyrone. Three sons and one daughter are dead, two of whom died in the east before the family removed to the west, the other two dying in the west. The surviving brothers are Samuel Brisbin of Lewistown, Mifflin Co. and Benjamin V. Brisbin of Lemont, Centre County. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Union Twp.
