WALTERS Funeral for Patricia Ann Abels, 60, Walters, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, with the Rev. Steve Mallow officiating.
Burial will be in Walters Cemetery
Patricia departed this life Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, in Walters.
Patricia Ann Abels was born April 23, 1951, at Cedar City, Utah. Pat grew up in Utah graduating from Blanding High School in 1969, and then attending college in Provo for a year. She had moved to Washington for a time before moving to Lawton in 1974. She made another move to Geronimo in 1979, and on Aug. 25, 1984, married Bobby Joe Abels at the Holy City in the Wichita Mountains. They have made their home in Walters since 1986. Pat was employed by the City of Lawton for 16 years. She enjoyed horseback riding, working in the yard, swimming, dancing, cooking and was an EMT. She loved spending time with her family and watching her grandkids in their activities.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby, of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jimmie Russell, of Walters; three grandchildren: Coby Russell, of Midland, Texas; and Ben and Rachel Russell, both of Walters; her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Denny Dennis; and a niece, Shantal Dennis, all of Geronimo; five stepchildren and their spouses: Bobby Abels Jr. and Donna, Larry Abels and Twyla, Rhonda Pace, and Leona Salinas, all of Abilene, Texas; and Vickie Leber, of Dallas; numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Arlene Anderson Williams.
