Duaghter Mamie lovingly recalled, "My mother (Stina Lotta Wassgren) recited scripture, sang songs, told us Jesus was soon coming for her. She was not afraid to die. The following morning she too had gone to the Great Beyond."

1983 letter from archivist at Landsarkivet i Vadstena, Box 126, 592 00 Vadstena, Sweden:
"A girl Stina Lotta was born September 14, 1852 at Ljungstorp, Vena parish as the daughter of the worker Johan Nilsson, who was born March 29, 1812 in Vena and his wife, Anna Stina Samuelsdotter, who was born May 18, 1819 in Vena."

"Together Johan Nilsson and Anna Samuelsdotter did have the children Carl Erik, born June 24, 1847, Stina Lotta, born September 14, 1852 and Nils Aron, born February 20, 1857. All the three children were born in Vena."

[Step-siblings:] "Johan Nilsson did have in an earlier marriage the son Per Johan, born March 28, 1836 in Vena.
Anna Samuelsdotter did have without marriage the son Sven August born March 29,1840 in Tuna."
