Jim Case, 89, of Jackson, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 20, 1922, in Beulah, MO, son of Squire and Mattie Fore Case. He and Loudean O. Abernathy Jones were married June 30, 1984.

Jim was inducted into the United States Army on November 3, 1942, was awarded three bronze service stars and a bronze star medal, and was honorably discharged on October 22, 1945. He was a manager of the former TG&Y Store in Rolla and Flat River, and was a bus driver for the R-7 School District in Farmington, retiring in 1984. He and Loudean moved to Jackson in 2007 from Doe Run, MO. He enjoyed playing the mandolin and wood carving, often attending area craft fairs. He was a member of Calvary Temple in Fredericktown, MO.

Loving survivors include his wife of 27 years; four sons, James David Case, Jr., Gary Case, and Larry Case, all of Jefferson City, MO, and James Timothy Case of Roanoke, VA; eight step-children; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 6:00 PM, at the First General Baptist Church of Jackson with Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating.

Visitation was held at 11:00 AM at the Rambo Assembly of God
in Beulah, MO. Then at 11:30 AM funeral services began.

James Case. Pastor Lonnie Case (James' nephew) officiated.


A graveside service will be held Thursday at 1:30 PM at Ozark Hills Memorial Garden in Rolla, MO, with full military honors.

The family suggests memorials be made to Special Needs Ministry of First General Baptist Church in Jackson.
