DAVID E. NEIGHBOUR
David E. Neighbour died Tuesday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Fielding Funeral Home, with burial in the Chariton Cemetery.
Mr. Neighbour had lived in Lucas County since 1925. He worked for 30 years as a coal miner, and retired in 1968 after working for 17 years as a forklift operator for Hy-Vee.
He was a lifelong member of the Chariton Masonic Lodge No. 63 A.F. & A.M., and belonged to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances, of Chariton; a son, Walter, of Ankeny; two daughters, Ruth Schneider of Elkhart and Janet Ashby, of Ankeny; a sister, Millie Briggs, of Chariton; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
