Hayden Evans Larsen, beloved patriarch of the Larsen family and the mountains of Utah, passed away peacefully at his home on Christmas Day, surrounded by family, after a painful struggle with the results of Aortic Stenosis. He was our beloved father, grandpa, and husband.

He was born January 29, 1929 in Castle Gate, Utah to Leonard Clarence and Catherine Jane Evans Larsen. Married Teresa Colleen Burgi on October 3, 1949 for eternity in the Manti LDS Temple.

Hayden honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; on the USS Iowa, and later the USS Topeka. He was a very proud veteran. Hayden retired from Questar Gas after thirty-four years of dedicated service, beginning in the natural gas fields of the Manti LaSal Mountains of central Utah and retiring as Director of Joint Financial Accounts.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen; four sons: James Michael Larsen (Deanna), Draper, Utah; Terry Hayden Larsen (Betty), Parker, Colorado; Jeffrey Leonard Larsen (Caroll), Layton, Utah; and Gregory Larsen (Ann), Kearns, Utah; one daughter, Lisa Colleen Larsen, West Valley City, Utah; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kathleen Larsen; three brothers; and two sisters.

At his request, graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
