Kitty Erline Aldridge Hardin, 97, of Moulton passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Birmingham. Mrs. Hardin was born to James Arthur Aldridge and Kitty Azeala Hood Aldridge on October 20, 1914, in Moulton, Lawrence County. She lived her entire life there except for the last two years when she lived at Country Cottage Assisted Living Facility, Russellville.

The family will receive friends today, December 28, 2011, from 10 a.m. until noon at Moulton Church of Christ. Funeral to follow at noon. Officiating the services will be O.D. Bowling, Ray McWhorter, Bill Becker and Keith Barnett. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Hardin was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 74 years, John Clinton Hardin Sr.; daughter, Kitty Ann Hardin Priest; her parents, Arthur and Kitty Aldridge; three sisters, Gertrude Aldridge, Eva Weatherwax and Lucille Adcock; four brothers, Farris Aldridge, Gurney, Aldridge, Earl Aldridge and Louie Aldridge.

Mrs. Hardin is survived by one son, John Clinton Hardin Jr. and wife, Barbara, Moulton; one daughter, Martha Sue Hardin Sibley and husband, Don, Russellville; son-in-law, Tommy Priest, Signal Mountain, Tenn.; ten grandchildren, Cynthia Hardin Henry (Mitch), Montgomery, Dr. John Clinton Hardin III (Amie), Auburn, Brian Hardin (Kelli), Wetumpka, Dr. Shan Namie (Kathy), Madison, Elizabeth Namie Milton (Osborne), Madison, Leslie Hardin Namie (Danna), Moulton, Amy Sibley Hamilton (Brian), Russellville, Timothy Priest (Brooke), Hixson, Tenn., Kimberly Priest McKelvey (Mike), Navarre, Fla., Gary Priest (Robin), Signal Mountain, Tenn.; two stepgrandchildren, Betsy Sibley Beal (Mike), Sevierville, Tenn., Kerry Sibley (Susan), Buford, Ga.; 20 great-grandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

"Mimi" as Mrs. Hardin was known by her grandchildren, was also known as the "lily lady" to people across Lawrence County. She had a passion for gardening with a special love for daylilies which she freely shared with everyone she knew. She was a longtime member of the Moulton Garden Club, the Twilight Garden Club and the Radiance Garden Club. She was also a past member of the Moulton Study Club.

Mrs. Hardin was a longtime devoted and faithful member of the Moulton Church of Christ and attended North Highlands Church of Christ in Russellville while living at Country Cottage. Her interest in history motivated her to work with the Lawrence County Archives to give information by video and co-author a book, History of Lawrence County, Alabama. She was a charter member of the Melton Bluff Chapter of the DAR of Lawrence County.

She loved being active in many things, especially playing games with her children, grands and greats, and she consistently continued to play bridge with her "bridge buddies" in Moulton and Russellville. She was full of love for all of her family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Parker, and the Elders and Deacons of Moulton Church of Christ.

Memorials may be made to Moulton Church of Christ or to a favorite charity .
