Leola Mary (Theis) Worm, age 87, of Chaska, passed away Friday, September 23rd at St. Francis Medical Center in Shakopee, MN after a brief illness.
Born in Marystown, MN on January 25, 1918, she was the daughter of Anton & Margaret (Hennen) Theis. On August 18, 1936 Leola married Hubert "Bert" Worm, Jr. of Jordan. Leola and Bert raised their eleven children in a closely knit farming neighborhood. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother to her children and their many friends. This kept her young at heart and open-minded. She was an active member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Parish, including Daughters of Isabella, and the Quilting Society.
Preceded in death by husband, Bert; daughter-in-law, Marlene; grandson, Brian; sister, Cecilia Pauly; and brothers, Raymond, Cyril, Edwin, Verner, Clement, and Martin. Survived by sons, LeRoy (Margaret), Jim (Linda), Allan (Norma), Stan (Sue), Roger, Ken (Laurel), Jack (Mary); daughters, Diana (Kent) Larson, Janet (Pete) Brose, Joni (Lad) Allen, Mary (Ronald) Olson; 30 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Esther Weinzierl, Arlene (Lee) Luce, and brother, Norbert (Corrine); and many brothers-and sisters-in-law.
Visitation Monday from 4-8 PM at the Bertas Funeral Home, 200 W. 3rd St, Chaska, with D of I Rosary at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 10:30 AM, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 218 W. 2nd St., Chaska. Burial at Guardian Angels Catholic Cemetery, Chaska.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
