Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Nickisch Funeral Chapel, Napoleon, with Pastor Bob DuPuy of Gackle officiating. Burial was in the Napoleon City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mylo Janko, John Janko, William Janko, Mike Braun, Philip Wolf, Roy Peterson.
Mrs. Hamel was born February 20, 1910, in Emmons County near Temvik, the daughter of Frank and Christina (Kessler) Beska. She was married to Dale Hamel at Napoleon in 1940 and the couple farmed 7 miles north of Kintyre. Mr. Hamel died in 1965 and Mrs. Hamel moved into Napoleon in 1966. She had lived at the Napoleon Senior Center the past 4 or 5 years.
Survivors include a step son, Charles Hamel, Napoleon; step daughters, Mrs. Russell (Ruth) Haibeck, Steele; Mrs. Howard (Grace) Swan, of Springfield, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jane Hamel, Bismarck; step daughters-in-law, Mrs. Donna Hamel, Napoleon; Mrs. John (Irene) Loyd of Camp Hill, Penn.; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Edwin Beska of Portland, Ore.; Rudolph and Robert Beska of Temvik. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons in 1966.
Nickisch Funeral Home, Napoleon, was in charge of arrangements.
