DEATH OF FORMER CITIZEN: On the 2nd of May Mr. Elbert Lewis, who was born and raised in this county, died at the ripe old age of 91 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bertha Lewis Newman, at Edgewood, Ga. Mr. Lewis was an uncle of Mrs. Thomas M. Berrien, of this city, and a number of relatives through the county who will be sorry to hear the sad news of his death. He was born April 8th, 1805 and he well remembered when his father left his Burke county home for the war of 1812. He was married to Miss Eliza Carter, also of this county in 1823.
