She was born Sept. 5, 1901, in Springfield, the daughter of John A. and Mayme F. McCurley Moore. She married Edgar L. Fritz Sr. in 1922 and he preceded her in death in 1960. A life-long resident of Springfield, Mrs. Fritz was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, an associate of the Washington Street Mission since 1910, a member of the Women's Relief Corps No. 17, Triple Link Rebekah Lodge No. 577, I.O.O.F., and Daughters of Union Veterans.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Ethel J. Balash of Waterbury, Conn., Mrs. Mary J. Scattergood, Mrs. Delores J. Ball and Mrs. Sarah A. Gallagher, all of Springfield, and Miss Damaris J. Fritz at home; three sons, Francis R. Brown, the Rev. Ted Fritz and Thomas D. Fritz, all of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rosamond Max of Knoxville, Iowa, and Mrs. Eleanor Hartley of Loves Park; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Third Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Mickey Blair officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
